Our mouth-watering story began in a roundabout way. In 1989, Arele Sheinberger and Jacob Baitch, two friends of Israeli origin, came to the United States and realized that the pinnacle of Jewish New York, Crown Heights,lacked that most New York of products—bagels!
Three decades and hundreds-of-thousands potato bagels later, what began as Crown Bagels blossomed into the world-famous Holesome Bagels, producing a well-rounded product renowned around the world.
The growing empire, spearheaded by second-generation maestro Menachem Sheinberger, is still anchored in its well-rounded and holy product, but has expanded its offerings and services to meet the individual, familial, and communal needs of its patrons.
